Our primary function is to negotiate your contract and protect your rights under the contract. We handle contract grievances and offer union-related opportunities, such as serving as a division representative or an officer all of which have a stipend. We stay informed and act on local issues that affect higher education and working conditions. We work with the greater community of educators to strengthen our collective voice.
The CFT comprises 147 local unions representing dedicated education workers from early childhood through university. These AFT/CFT local unions can be found throughout the state, from Del Norte County in the north to San Diego in the south. Citrus College Adjunct Faculty Federation AFT Local 6352 is proudly representing part-time faculty at Citrus College in Glendora.
Your dues support your local officers in their duties such as promoting membership, negotiating better wages and working conditions and handling grievances. Part of your dues goes towards the parent organizations: California Federation of Teachers (CFT), California Labor Federation (CLF), and (AFL-CIO) for a stronger collective voice.
We support the election of faculty-friendly trustees and expanded our membership to include non-credit faculty
